khoi quach deserves a second chance

Just heard from our good friend Anderson, who is passing along word about this petition on behalf of his cousin...

Khoi Quach has been in jail for two years awaiting trial for a drive-by shooting that happened in 2009. He wasn't involved nor fired any guns, but now he's facing 25 years for essentially being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

According to his supporters, the Orange County District Attorney's office has had Khoi locked up deliberately so that he turns 18 years old and can be charged as an adult accomplice. You can read more about the situation here (the language is a little dense, but you'll get the idea).

Khoi emigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam almost ten years ago seeking a better life. His friends and family describe him as a good kid who deserves a second chance. His only crime is choosing the wrong set of friends to hang out with.

For further information, and if you'd like to sign the online petition and send a message to the DA's office not to use Khoi as an "example," go here.
