two women hospitalized in vicious hammer attack

Last week in San Francisco's Sunset District, two women were hospitalized after a vicious home invasion attack where the assailant used a hammer and a knife: Hammer used in attack on two women in SF.

Police are calling the crime a botched robbery. The suspect apparently came into the home of 76-year-old Rose Chung and tried to rob her. The second victim happened to be delivering food to the residence and got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The delivery woman was injured in the attack, but managed to get away back to her restaurant and called 911.
Police say the first victim, a 76-year-old woman, had just arrived at home when the attack happened. Investigators believe the weapons used included a knife and a hammer. During the attack, a second woman arrived at the home to deliver food. She saw what was happening and then she too was attacked. She ran into a nearby restaurant to call 911.

A team of investigators is scouring the area, but they only have a basic description of a suspect.
Who the hell attacks a 76-year-old woman with a friggin' hammer? The suspect is described as a young Asian male who speaks Cantonese. He was last seen driving a light-colored sedan with triangular-shaped tail lights. More here: Two SF women remain hospitalized after vicious hammer attack.
