bruce lee resolution introduced in congress

Awesome. Today in Washington D.C. five House Democrats introduced H.Res. 654, aka the "Bruce Lee Resolution," honoring the life and legacy of the martial arts icon for his teachings and his role as a bridge between American and Chinese cultures: Democrats introduce Bruce Lee resolution.

Well, I guess that makes it official. It's APA Heritage Month, after all. The resolution traces Bruce Lee's life, career and lasting legacy, recognizing the "immense impact that Bruce Jun Fan Lee had on American and global popular culture." Here's an excerpt:
Recognizing the immense impact that Bruce Jun Fan Lee had on American and global popular culture and the important role he played in creating a bridge between cultures, championing values of self-respect, self-discipline, and tolerance in our Nation, and pioneering and cultivating the genres of martial arts, martial arts films, fitness and philosophy in the United States and the world.
The resolution was introduced by Rep. Mike Honda (D-Calif.) and co-sponsored by Reps. Hansen Clarke (D-Mich.) and Laura Richardson (D-Calif.), and Dels. Eni Faleomavaega (D-American Samoa) and Gregorio Sablan (D-Northern Mariana Islands). Read the full text of H.Res. 654 here.
