Angry Reader of the Week: Vincent Fang
Okay, friends. We're doing this again. Time to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Vincent Fang.
Who are you?
I am a graduating senior political science and policy studies major with a minor in Asian/Asian American Studies at Syracuse University.
What are you?
I am a second generation Asian American. I am an older brother to two, a role model and a student of my many mistakes.
Where are you?
Currently, I am in Syracuse University but I am looking forward to being in Washington DC for an internship in exactly one month!
Where are you from?
Born and raised in Astoria, Queens, New York City is where I call home. (Yes, I am REALLY from New York!) However, my love for our capital will always occupy a space within me.
What do you do?
I am the Political Education Chair for ASIA (Asian Students in America), a student organization on campus. I host workshops and discussions on Asian American socioeconomic issues on campus.
In New York City, I was the summer coordinator for Chinatown Youth Initiatives, a for-youth, by youth non-profit. As I handed down the reigns of the flagship program, Summer Leadership Institute, I have transitioned to become a member of the CYI Working Group.
What are you all about?
I am all about Asian Americans and politics. As a former intern of both APAICS (Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies) and the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, I hope to see the political pipeline for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders continue to grow. One day, I hope to run for public office and give back to all that this community has given me.
What makes you angry?
"Why should I care? It doesn't affect me" or "I think you’re being overly sensitive about this."
