Attention young journalists! The Asian American Journalists Association is currently accepting applications for JCamp 2014, a six-day intensive journalism training camp for high school students. The all-expenses-paid program brings together students from across the nation to sharpen their journalism skills and work together in a unique learning environment. It's happening July 29 to August 3 at Emerson College in Boston.

Now Accepting Applications for JCamp 2014Applications are due March 16. JCamp is not limited to Asian American students -- high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. There is no fee to apply and all costs are covered, including airfare, lodging and meals.

JCamp is a six-day intensive journalism training for high school students. Students learn from professional journalists and get hands-on training in writing, photography, television broadcasting, online media, and reporting. Sessions and workshops are led by experienced journalists from top media companies. JCamp is an all-expenses-paid program with travel, meals and lodging covered by AAJA’s partners.

Eligibility & Required Materials: Applicants of all races and ethnicities are encouraged to apply. JCamp is open to high school students currently in their freshman, sophomore or junior year. Before you begin, please make sure you gather all of the information you will need.
Required Materials
- Your most recent high school transcript (PDF or JPG)
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher (PDF or JPG)*
- Two essays answering the two questions below, each approximately 250 words in length.
A) If you could interview any living person, who would it be and why? What would you ask that person?
B) Why do you think you should be selected for JCamp?
