Angry Reader of the Week: Kevin Iwashina
All right, friends. You know what's up. It's time to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Kevin Iwashina.
Who are you?
Kevin Kiyoji Iwashina
What are you?
An Entertainment Entrepreneur
Where are you?
West Hollywood, California
Where are you from?
The San Fernando Valley
What do you do?
I am the co-founder and Managing Partner of Preferred Content. Our company is involved the production, distribution and marketing of film, television & digital content. We specialize in American independent film, documentary & non-fiction storytelling as well as all forms of genre content.
Please watch our most recent creation - the Amazon Original pilot The Rebels.
What are you all about?
I am all about self awareness, self acceptance and vulnerability. I am obsessed with working with our staff to ensure they honestly acknowledge who they are, embrace it and proudly express themselves without apology. I have them all read Patrick Lencioni's The Five Dysfunctions of a Team and ask them to frequently revisit the text.
What makes you angry?
Knowing when someone is not living up to their potential. A quote from our documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi best summarizes my overall attitude - "Always look ahead and above yourself. Always try to improve on yourself. Always strive to elevate your craft."
It will also make me angry if anyone who finishes reading this questionnaire thinks that I am just a cold Asian task master. I have a sense of humor too, but it is hard to express within the context of this blog post.
