Brutal, unprovoked assault on Wen Hui Ruan in Manhattan's East Village caught on video
In New York City, police are asking for the public's help searching for the suspect responsible for the vicious, unprovoked fatal assault of an elderly man on the street in Manhattan's East Village on Friday evening.
East Village unprovoked attack leaves man dead
68-year-old Wen Hui Ruan was walking home on East Sixth Street between avenues C and D, at around 8:43pm, when a suspect came up from behind, yelled at him and started attacking.
Surveillance video from the scene shows the man pushing Ruan against a wall, shoving him to the ground, then punching and stomping him on the head. He then casually walks away after the attack.
Ruan was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and died from his injuries the next day.

As you can see, there are clearly people in the video who saw the assault happening.
No arrests have been made in the case.
