A lovely homemade mashup with Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover"
If you are officially tired of hearing Pharrell Williams' "Happy" for the thousandth time, I submit this ultra-cool, homemade cover/mashup of the smash hit pop tune with Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, " crafted and performed by the one and only Jane Lui. It's really freaking awesome:
Jane says she obsessed over this particular recording "pretty severely," really wanting to convey the spirit of "50 Ways" and change up "Happy." The recording involved, among other things, a typewriter, service bells, bike bells, suitcase buckles, a pop-lid cup from IKEA, six claps, eighteen vocal tracks, and the "water-drop face trick."
I think this video is also ample proof, once again, that Jane Lui is a mad musical genius.
