Heads up, D.C.! You are invited to the 5th annual Kollaboration D.C. talent showcase and competition. Six finalists will compete to see who gets to go the finals in L.A. The night will be hosted by former D.C. champ and spoken word artist G. Yamazawa, Jr., and includes a guest performance from DanAKADan. It's happening on Saturday, June 28 at the Spectrum Theater. For 14 years, Kollaboration has endeavored to empower talented Asian and Pacific Islander (API) artists to pursue their creative dreams, and now with production teams all across the US and Canada consisting of API professional and student volunteers, Kollaboration has grown into one of the largest grassroots movements within the national API community.
The 5th Annual Kollaboration DC will present a lineup of some of the best in emerging talents from the API community. Our 6 finalists are:
A-Live, Rapper representing Fairfax, VA
Jae Jin, Singer/Songwriter representing Baltimore, MD
Eric Hosuk Yoo, Singer/Songwriter representing Timonium, MD
Jessica Millete, Singer/Songwriter representing Fairfax, VA
Paradise, Singer/Songwriter representing Reston, VA
Intrepid, Rock Band representing Reston, VA
The show will be hosted by local award-winning spoken word artist, and 2012 Kollaboration DC Champion, George "G" Yamazawa Jr., and will also feature special guest performances by last year's Kollaboration DC Champion, Dave Yoon, as well as alternative hip-hop artist, Dan AKA Dan.
