Angry Reader of the Week: Paola Mardo

"Basically, I love the internet."

Hello, friends. Allow me to introduce you to the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Paola Mardo.

Who are you?

I'm Paola Mardo - that's Paola like "Paul-uh."

Not: "Pow-la" or "Pay-oh-la" or "Paul" or "Paolo." Trust me, I've heard them all.

What are you?

I'm a podcast host and producer, film and media junkie, and professional interneter.

Where are you?

I'm in Studio F, my podcast studio in Los Angeles (a.k.a. at home).

Where are you from?

I was born in Los Angeles but I moved around a lot. I grew up in Manila, Kuala Lumpur and San Ramon, a suburb of San Francisco. I have also lived in Santa Barbara and various enclaves of Los Angeles.

What do you do?

I host and produce F This Weekly, an arts and entertainment podcast for and about women and anyone who gives an F. The podcast drops every Friday and you can tune in and subscribe to it on fthisweekly.com, iTunes or wherever you listen to podcasts.

I also write for and publish F This Weekly's email newsletter (with GIFs!) which you can sign up for at fthisweekly.com/getfedup.

Lastly, I tweet and tumble about film and media things at @paolamardo and paolamardo.com.

What are you all about?

I am all about movies, storytelling, social media, podcasting and radio. Basically, I love the internet.

What makes you angry?

A lot of effin' things -- lack of diversity in media, gender pay gap, #OscarsSoWhite. That's part of the reason I started F This Weekly. The show's focus is to feature women of color in creative fields, but folks of all backgrounds are welcome. We talk about everything from careers, personal stories and unusual experiences to mansplaining, fetishes and whatever the F we want. Whenever you want to yell "F*** this!" or simply F some sh*t up, tune in to F This Weekly and we'll do it for you.

By the way, if you're a woman of color working in the arts or entertainment, get at me on Twitter or email fthisweekly [at] gmail [dot] com. I want to talk to you!
