APIOPA empowers Asian and Pacific Islander communities to improve their health by proactively addressing social, cultural, environmental, and political factors that contribute to the growing rates of obesity among API residents in Los Angeles County.

You are invited to APIOPA's annual Farm to Chopsticks event, bringing together friends, family and their Roots community-supported agriculture farmers. Hosted by comedian/writer Jenny Yang, it'll be a fun night of tasty Asian cuisine, specially sourced from Asian farmers, and cooked by hip, local chefs in Los Angeles.

It's happening Thursday, August 18 in downtown Los Angeles. Here are some more details:

Farm to Chopsticks 2016

Los Angeles CA 90021

Farm to Chopsticks is a celebration that will bring together APIOPA staff, supporters, and socially-conscious Angelenos who are inspired by culinary innovation and local produce.

This is a night about reconnecting with our roots and eating how our ancestors ate. FTC will feature local chef Jan De-Peralta, who will prepare food sourced from our partner Padao Farms, located in Fresno. We have worked with these Hmong farmers for over 3 years to grow and cultivate the Roots community-supported agriculture program.

All proceeds from Farm to Chopsticks will support APIOPA's efforts to make healthy Asian produce more affordable and accessible for families in Los Angeles County.

Craft beer tastings will be provided by local breweries: Brewjeria Company, Angel City, and Iron Triangle. Must be 21 & over to attend. See you there!
