Angry Reader of the Week: Omi Vaidya

"I'm about learning and improving myself a little everyday."

Hello, good readers. You know what time it is. It's time to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Omi Vaidya.

Who are you?

Difficult to say. Do any of us really KNOW who we are? It's said that each moment of existence, each experience we have, changes our very being. Even these words I write just now have transformed me ever so slightly.

What are you?

I'm a 34 earth years old Homosapien. I'm married and a father. I also identify as an Indian American.

Where are you?

At the moment, I'm on the planet earth in the country known as the United States of America and specifically near the metropolis known as Washington, DC. But you can also typically find me in Los Angeles, New York and Mumbai, India. Most of the time though, I find myself inside my head.

Where are you from?

Originally my ancestors come from a couple villages on the boarder of the Indian provinces of Maharashtra and Goa but I believe my great grandparents moved to Mumbai in the early 1900s. After my parents emigrated to America in the 1970s, I was born in golfing mecca of Palm Springs, CA. but I grew up about 50 miles away in a small rural town called Yucca Valley which is adjacent to the well known national park and U2 album, Joshua Tree.

What do you do?

I work in the entertainment industry primarily as an actor but I dabble in direction and editing. I'm known for my comedic roles in Hollywood and Bollywood films and have worked on TV shows like The Office, Arrested Development and my newest Netflix production, Brown Nation. If you want to know more, just watch a documentary about me called Big In Bollywood, which premieres on Netflix Dec 31st, 2016. It's a hilarious film about my rise to fame in Bollywood.

What are you all about?

I'm all about doing interesting things and not taking life so seriously. I love laughing and having new experiences. I'm about learning and improving myself a little everyday.

What makes you angry?

It's difficult to make me angry. I practice accepting the moment as it is. But there are things that trouble me. Ignorance and a lack of critical thinking skills or a good education make me pretty miffed. I'm upset about the direction America is heading. Overpopulation, climate change, and the distribution of wealth are all things that rub me the wrong way.
