Angry Reader of the Week: Vinny Chhibber

"Actor, storyteller, creative activist and avid FC Barcelona fan."

Greetings, good people of the internet! It is time, once again, to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Vinny Chhibber.

Who are you?

Vineet (Vinny) Chhibber.

What are you?

Indian American // half Punjabi half Gujarati.

Actor, storyteller, creative activist and avid FC Barcelona fan.

Where are you?

Silverlake, Los Angeles.

Where are you from?

Born in Queens, New York and raised in West Virginia.

What do you do?

I'm an actor, currently working on The Red Line on CBS and Animal Kingdom on TNT.
I'm a producer on films such as Lost in America and M.F.A. through my company Chhibber Mann Productions.
I've founded both a production company and a theatre company based on the concept of creative activism, that is, using art to facilitate change in the communities around us and giving marginalized voices a place to tell their stories.

What are you all about?

Making sure that when we talk about diversity, inclusion and representation in story telling, we're not just talking about casting. We're also talking about writing, producing, show running, developing, and everything else. Making sure that in scripts we're asking not just who is represented, but how they are represented. Making sure that we continue to support our artists and storytellers in every way we can, financially and otherwise. Making sure that when I'm in a position to affect change that I do, and making sure to continue to push the message out there, that you are not alone -- that we've got your back.

What makes you angry?

People that appropriate the cause, that commoditize the cause -- but don't actually support the cause.
People that perpetuate outdated narratives and racist stereotypes.
Real Madrid fans.
