Angry Reader of the Week: Bobby Hundreds

"I feel most comfortable in the cracks - between worlds."

What's up, internet friends? It is time, once again, to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Bobby Kim aka Bobby Hundreds.

Who are you?

Bobby Kim aka Bobby Hundreds.

What are you?

A father, a husband, a bad friend, an even worse boss, an Asian disgrace.

Where are you?

For the next 24 hours, Seattle, Washington. Then, Canada, I think?

Where are you from?

Los Angeles, California.

What do you do?

I'm a designer, a brand owner, an author...

What are you all about?

I feel most comfortable in the cracks - between worlds. Neither here nor there. I guess I'm a generalist. I say "I do a little bit of everything and a lot of nothing!"

What makes you angry?

I remember when I was around 19 or 20, my friend said, "You'll get less angry with age. You're an angsty teen, but you'll make money, settle down, become Republican and chill."

I'm angrier now than I was then. I'm even more aware now of the gaps and divides, the brokenness. I'm pissed off about not being heard and represented fairly -- not just for myself, but for everyone. I want everyone to be considered and received -- brown people, skateboarders, messy punk bands, obscure streetwear brands operating out of garages. An artist's job is to make the world look better (not themselves), and so I am forever bothered by imperfections. Things can always be better -- whether the balance of a logo, the shape of the chair I'm sitting in, or a social imbalance. I'm constantly fiddling with, tweaking, and leveling -- there's infinite work to be done. But, we can always improve, work towards each other, and chase this gold standard of peace and perfection.
