Angry Reader of the Week: William Yu

"I want to tell stories that I wish I had known."

Hey, everybody! It's about that time to meet another Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is William Yu.

Who are you?

William Kueho Yu. 유규호. 柳圭浩.

What are you?

I'm a second generation Korean American. Former advertising creative strategist. Current screenwriter. Recent Los Angeles transplant. Unapologetic Boston sports fan. Avid tweeter. John Cho's number one fan.

Where are you?

Downtown Los Angeles, CA. Better Call Saul is on.

Where are you from?

Born in Philadelphia, I grew up in Hong Kong, was raised in Boston, lived in New York, and am now based in Los Angeles.

What do you do?

I used to create stories for brands. Now, I write scripts for the culture. Also, I make things like #StarringJohnCho and #SeeAsAmStar.

What are you all about?

I want to tell stories that I wish I had known. As I grow older, I'm realizing that there are so many vulnerabilities and learnings that would have been so helpful for me to know as a child. But for whatever reason, these moments were held tight and hidden. All I want is for the next generation to come up in this world with their eyes open and courage in their hearts. I hope they will grow up not feeling like they are starting from square one.

What makes you angry?

When you diminish my experience because it does not align with your own.
