It looks like Chan Ho Park is headed to New York. The Yankees have signed the South Korean pitcher to a one-year major league contract that will pay a guaranteed $1.2 million plus $300,000 in incentives: All Kidding Aside, Yankees Pick Park for Relief.
Park made the announcement yesterday at a news conference in Seoul. His deal with the Yankees will be official once he passes a physical. More here: Park Chan-ho Signs with New York Yankees.
Park, a 36-year-old right-hander, went 3-3 with a 4.43 ERA in 45 games for the NL champion Phillies last year. He then pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings in the World Series. He has a lifetime record of 120-95 in 16 major league seasons.
