Well, that didn't take long. This week in Atlanta, transit officials announced that they would change the name of MARTA's "yellow" train line -- which happens to go to Doraville, home to a large Asian American community -- to gold. Crisis averted, I guess: Asian community upset over 'yellow' train line in Atlanta, route renamed 'gold.'
While I don't think anyone really intended harm, there obviously wasn't a lot of thought or sensitivity that went into renaming the line "yellow." Really? The train that goes to the Asian neighborhood? All of this probably could've been avoided from the beginning. More here: MARTA changes "yellow" line to "gold."
