Two people made me cheer this week. Jeremy Lin, of course. But also Beverly Kim, the scrappy chef who fought her way back to a spot on Bravo's Top Chef.
The Korean American cheftestant (who happens to be the younger sister of our friend Lee Ann Kim) was eliminated from the cooking competition a couple of weeks ago, but came back to kick some ass on the concurrent online face-off Last Chance Kitchen, and earned herself a place on this week's episode.
She's a fighter, having faced a number of haters and bullies on the show over the course of the season. Well, she can tell them all to suck it, because she's clawed her way into the final four alongside fellow chef Paul Qui.
Yup, that's two Asian American chefs going into the Top Chef finale. Alas, it actually could have been three, but Edward Lee got eliminated at the end of Wednesday episode. He had a great run. Here's an interview Ed did in the aftermath: Top Chef's Ed: What's the Point of Last Chance Kitchen?
I think this has been a really fun season of Top Chef. At this point, I am on both Team Beverly and Team Paul, who have a pretty strong chance of winning the whole thing. Looking forward to seeing how it all shakes down.
