Watch this stunning 3D animated tribute to Hayao Miyazaki

Superfan's video pays homage to the unique worlds of the master animator.



Wow. Wow. This is a must-see for fans of Hayao Miyazaki. One talented superfan, Vimeo user dono, has made a stunning tribute to the beloved master animator, re-creating some of Miyazaki's most famous worlds and characters in animated 3D. The video features characters from Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Porco Rosso, Kiki's Delivery Service, The Wind Rises, Howl's Moving Castle, Castle in the Sky, NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind and Ponyo. It's epic.

'Big Hero 6' artist pays homage to Hayao Miyazaki

Hiro and Baymax recreate an iconic moment from 'My Neighbor Totoro'



Been seeing this passed around widely... Jin Kim, Character Design Supervisor at Walt Disney Animation Studios, drew this awesome piece featuring Big Hero 6 characters Hiro Hamada and Baymax in an homage to legendary Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki. Fans will immediately recognize the drawing as an iconic allusion to the Studio Ghibli classic My Neighbor Totoro. It's pretty darn wonderful:

Martin Hsu visits the house from My Neighbor Totoro



Just passing this along for all you Miyazaki fans... Our friend and fellow Hayao Miyazaki fan Martin Hsu has been traveling in Japan and recently made a pilgrimage to Satsuki and Mei's house from the animated classic My Neighbor Totoro: Studio Ghibli’s Satsuki and Mei’s House from Totoro in Real Life!.

Basically, it's a real-life, fully furnished replica of the house from the animated movie, with all the little details inside and out. Martin documented his visit with this visual tour, and is also doing a giveaway of Totoro memorabilia. Here are a few photos from his trip:
