Is this the next "Gangnam Style"?

As we try to put "Gangnam Style" behind us and Psy goes on to make pistachio commercials, what's next for crossover k-pop? They're saying that "Bar Bar Bar," the latest single by South Korean girl group Crayon Pop, might have what it takes to be the next big viral hit: Crayon Pop Does The Straight-Five Engine Dance.

Music genius it ain't, but the appeal is obvious. Five cute, coordinated, multi-color clad gals doing a fun dance to a bouncy bubbly pop tune. It's the kind of thing you can sing and dance along to even if you don't understand a syllable of Korean. See for yourself, if you haven't already:

Will the real Psy please stand up?

All Asians look the same... fake Korean pop star edition! Will the real Psy please stand up? This week at Cannes Film Festival, the guy behind the global megahit "Gangnam Style," became the toast of the town, partying down, collecting free swag and chumming it up with fellow celebs. Except this wasn't Psy. It was a Psy impostor, who apparently had the festival fooled: Cannes falls for the fake Psy.

Psy to star in Super Bowl commercial

I suppose PSY's insane pop culture takeover would not be complete without an appearance during the Super Bowl. The South Korean rapper behind the global pop mega hit "Gangnam Stye" has reportedly filmed his first U.S. television commercial with Wonderful Pistachios as part of the brand's "Get Crackin'" campaign, which you'll see aired next month during the big game: 'Gangnam' star Psy to star in Super Bowl ad.

"Gangnam Style" kills

Are people are aware of the potential dangers of "Gangnam Style"? In England, a man reportedly collapsed and died after dancing to the chart-topping hit at an office Christmas party: Man dies after office party dance.

46-year-old Eamonn Kilbride apparently danced a little too vigorously trying to mimic the "horse dance" stylings of Korean artist PSY. But the moves proved too much for Kilbride, who complained of chest pains when he came off the dance floor:

bill o'reilly offers his expert opinion on "gangnam style"

Oh, didn't you know? Bill O'Reilly happens to be an expert on popular musics. Why else would the blowhard host of Fox News' O'Reilly Factor go out of his way to decry the success of "Gangnam Style," not only dismissing Psy as "a little fat guy from Yongyang or some place," but also bringing in a so-called psychiatrist to decode and explain the Korean hit's inexplicable success.

"gangnam style" is the most viewed video of all time

Forget Red Dawn. The real invasion has already begun, and it started with a crazy little something called "Gangnam Style." Sometime over the weekend, the runaway international pop hit became the most watched YouTube video of all time: Psy's "Gangnam Style" video becomes YouTube's most viewed.

It's official. With over a staggering 800 million views, South Korean rap star Psy's staggeringly successful k-pop track surpassed Justin Bieber's 2010 music video for "Baby" to take the top spot. Incredible, considering the video was only uploaded to YouTube back in July. And in case you're the last person who hasn't seen it:

Psy performs "Gangnam Style" at American Music Awards, racist tweets predictably follow

Yes, Korean rapper Psy performed at the American Music Awards, sharing the stage with none other than MC Hammer and bringing down the house with their live mashup rendition of "Gangnam Style" and "2 Legit 2 Quit."

But of course. At this point, I'm not longer surprised by the galactic success of Psy's runaway hit, and I'm just going with it. You could tell me that NASA is launching Psy into outer space to perform "Gangnam Style" on Mars, and I'd just be like, "Cool." That's not what this post is about.

Here's what also doesn't surprise me: fools on Twitter broadcasting their willful ignorance with racist tweets about Psy's performance. This helpful Tumblr has amassed a pretty sweet selection of such tweets:

Umma Gangnam Style on Ellen

You knew it had to happen. As soon as we saw the video of dancer/choreographer Mike Song and Mrs. Song breaking it down, Gangnam Style, we knew the mom-and-son dance duo would inevitably find their way on to television talk land. Come on, it's so awesomely dance-tastic, there's no way this could not get on Ellen And of course, they rock it:

Umma Gangnam Style: Mike Song's Mom's Got the Moves

While I've been actively trying to avoid all things "Gangnam Style," I cannot deny the simple awesomeness of this clip: UMMA GANGNAM STYLE.

That's dancer/choreographer Mike Song breaking it down, Gangnam Style, alongside his mom. Straight from the living room. According to Mike, this is the first dance he's ever taught his mom, and as you can see, she's got some serious natural talent. It's a sight to behold:
