This is great news... the very first National Asian American Theater Festival will be held June 11-24 at several locations in New York City: Asian-American Theaters Plan New Festival. The festival is a result of discussions between six prominent Asian American theater companies—Pan Asian Repertory Theater, East West Players, Ma-Yi Theater, the National Asian American Theater Company, Second Generation and Mu Performing Arts. The two-week event will draw more than 25 companies and individuals from around the United States, with backgrounds from Cambodia, China, Japan, Korea, Laos, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam reflected in their work.
