fast for nk today

Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) is a worldwide movement dedicated to North Korean human rights. It's a fairly young organization, but from what I've seen, it's one of the most mobilized, passionate and well-organized movements around, with a really good online presence. Take a look a their website and Xanga for more information. Today, April 11th, thousands of people all over the world will be participating in a new LiNK initiative, Fast for NK. In solidarity with the North Korean people, they're asking you to skip your normal meals and donate the amount you would've spent on food, as well as help raise awareness of the human rights and humanitarian crisis in that country. Sorry for the short notice—I wasn't aware of this initiative until yesterday, or else I would've posted something about it sooner. For more information on Fast for NK, or to find out how you can get involved with LiNK and all its future events and programs, follow the links here and here.
