matsuzaka says hello, strikes out ten

It seems the hype was worth it—the guy can throw a baseball. In his major league debut Thursday, Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka struck out ten batters in seven innings, leading the Boston Red Sox to victory over the Kansas City Royals: Boston 4, Kansas City 1. With millions of Japanese fans getting up early to watch the televised game on the other side of the world. He did allow six hits, including a homer in the sixth inning, but I'd say ten strikeouts ain't too shabby. Looks like he plans to live up to his $103 million price tag. More here: Dice-KKKKKKKKKK. It seems the Boston fans have figured out an easy way to approximate the pronunciation of Daisuke's name: "Dice-K". Whatever works, I guess.
