michael kang's pre-premiere jitters

"What if only one person comes to the premiere?"

As I mentioned last week, my pal Michael Kang's film West 32nd premiered over the weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival. Here's an insightful blog entry at the Huffington Post, written by Mike just five hours before the world premiere: Premiere Day: This Is It. It's an honest, candid glimpse at his pre-show jitters and concerns, gripes about a stolen messenger bag (seriously, who steals the director's stuff at a party in support his film?), and his hopes for what West 32nd might contribute to the greater scope of Asian American popular culture. It's a nicely written piece. I wasn't able to make it out to the festival, but I hear West 32nd had a hell of a premiere. Sold out crowd, with a rush line reportedly close to two hundred deep... Let's hope the film turned some heads out there. Congratulations, Mike.
