yung chang's up the yangtze

Here's a good interview with Chinese Canadian director Yung Chang, talking about his documentary Up the Yangtze: Yung Chang on The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos on CBC. The film examines the effects of the construction of the massive Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River in China. It sounds pretty interesting, and has been receiving quite a bit of attention, screening last month at the Sundance Film Festival. Here's another interview from last month, straight from Park City: "Up The Yangtze" Director Yung Chang. To learn more about the film, visit the official site here. The movie opens in theaters in Canada starting February 8. (Thanks, Al.)
