internment-era baseball players honored

The Sacramento Bee has another good article on the many Japanese Americans who played baseball in internment camps during World War II: California's Japanese Americans loved their baseball, even behind barbed wire.

Last week, 32 Japanese Americans from the era were honored at a luncheon and at an evening ceremony before a minor league Sacramento River Cats game. Now in their 80s and 90s, they were remembered for their contribution to baseball—a sport that didn't always welcome them.
