If you're in Southern California this week, come on out for a fundraiser for Jay Chen, School Board Member for the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. In April, Jay was elected to be the 38th Congressional District's sole Pledged Delegate for Barack Obama, making him the only Asian American Obama delegate elected in Southern California.

Join Jay's friends and supporters as they send him off to Denver for the historic 2008 Democratic National Convention. This Thursday, August 7, 6:00-9:00pm at e3rd Steakhouse and Lounge in Los Angeles. Here are the details:

A proud product of Hacienda Heights public schools, Jay Chen graduated with Honors from Harvard University, where he was the recipient of the Marine Corps NROTC and John Harvard Scholarships. In 2007, Jay was elected to the Hacienda La Puente school board with the top vote on a platform of enhancing access to higher education and creating a greener district. An early Obama endorser, he participated in the Los Angeles Elected Officials for Obama and the Asian American Community Leaders for Obama press conferences that kicked off Super Tuesday. In April, Jay was elected to be CD38's sole Obama delegate, making him the only Asian American Obama delegate elected in Southern California.
