hate incident in portland

Some news out of Portland about a hate incident... This week, 22-year-old Bao Vuong was reportedly harrassed attacked with racial slurs by a group of men while he was driving in the city's Beaumont neighborhood: Man steps forward, says he was victim of hate.

Vuong was stopped at a light when four white men who were sitting on a bench started yelling racial slurs at him. When he ignored them, they started throwing, um, bagels, then walked over to the car and began swinging at him.

Fortunately, Bao was able to drive away uninjured. More than anything, he seems to be a bit astounded over what happened: "I mean, it's 2009 and in Portland. I'm really at a disbelief." Portland police have sent the case to their Bias Crimes Task Force. So far, none of the suspects have been arrested.

I wouldn't hold your breath about getting some justice. But at least he can spread the word about what happened. An Asian guy can't just drive along the road, minding his own business, without being harassed by some racist assholes on the side of the road. What's up with that? That's racist!
