"class of 1997" panel podcast

Real quick... If you weren't able to make it out to that panel discussion a few weeks back with the "Class of 1997" -- directors Chris Chan Lee, Justin Lin, Rea Tajiri, Eric Nakamura, Michael Aki and Quentin Lee -- Giant Robot has an audio podcast of the talk: 1997 Asian American New Wave Revisited.

It's pretty interesting to hear their perspectives now, twelve years after their first features hit the scene, especially given all the changes and developments in technology and the state of independent Asian American cinema. All things considered, for my generation, these filmmakers are all real pioneers.
