lt. dan choi on the moth

Just heard this great story told by Lt. Dan Choi on The Moth podcast, where he talks coming out to his family, the military, and to the world -- all for love: Dan Choi: Don't Tell, Martha!

The Moth is a not-for-profit organization that conducts live storytelling events. Founded in New York in 1997 by poet and novelist George Dawes Green, people basically get up in front of a live audience and tell their story. It's one of my favorite podcasts.

Dan Choi is a United States Army combat veteran of the Iraq War who made headlines when he publicly came out of the closet on The Rachel Maddow Show protesting the military's 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' policy. He has since become an outspoken LGBT rights activist.
