woman catches thieves... from 8,000 miles away

This is a crazy story about a woman who witnessed her house being robbed... from more than 8,000 miles away. In Oklahoma, police say three people who tried to rob a man's apartment were caught by his wife in the Philippines, who spotted them over a webcam: Woman in Philippines Cracks Okla. Case.

Maribel Chouinard was at her computer in the Philippines when she spotted three burglars on the webcam that she leaves on 24 hours a day to keep in touch with her husband back home in Oklahoma City.

Chouinard's husband, Air Force Master Sgt. Jim Choinard, was not at home at the time. But the webcam was apparently on when the would-be robbers broke in through the window. Maribel Choinard was asleep near the computer, when a loud noise from the computer woke her up.

Imagine her surprise as she watched the thieves enter the home before the screen went dead, when they apparently grabbed the webcam as part of their loot. She immediate called her husband, who called the cops.

The police found two teens near the apartment and later found the third suspect. All three were positively identified from a virtual photo line-up emailed to Chouinard in the Philippines. That's crazy. More here: Wife Cracks Case From an Ocean Away.
