euna lee signs a six-figure book deal

Journalist Euna Lee has reportedly signed a six-figure book deal to write her memoir about her 140-day imprisonment ordeal in North Korea: Six-figure book deal for journalist captured by North Korea.

The book, tentatively titled The World Is Bigger Now: A Memoir of Faith, Family and Freedom, will be published by Broadway Books, an imprint of Random House.

Lee and fellow Current TV correspondent Laura Ling were detained when they accidentally crossed into North Korean territory on March 17 while doing a story on human trafficking on the China/North Korea border.

In June, the two were sentenced by a North Korean court to 12 years of hard labor, but later pardoned by Kim Jong-Il after former President Bill Clinton made a trip to meet with the leadership in Pyongyang.

There is currently no publication date for the book yet. But I'll probably read it. Word on the street is that Laura Ling is also shopping for a book deal with her sister Lisa. I'll probably read that too. More here: Euna Lee Wins Imprisoned Reporters' Book Deal Race.
