matcha: eye of the tiger

This is for all my friends in San Francisco... Matcha, the Asian Art Museum's bi-monthly after-hours art/music mixer, returns for this Thursday, February 18 to kick off the Year of the Tiger. Here are some details:
MATCHA: Eye of the Tiger
Thursday, February 18
5:00-9:00 pm
$10 Admission (includes entry to Shanghai)

The Asian Art Museum's evening mixer is back! Kick off the Year of the Tiger and our special exhibition Shanghai with dynamic tiger-style kung fu by Shaolin Temple USA monks. Each mode of Shaolin kung fu is associated with an animal, and in Chinese culture, the tiger is king. Its kung fu style involves footwork, acrobatic kicks, and unique fist positions.

There’ll also be:

+ art activities (make a GOOD LUCK POSTER)
+ music by DJ FELIX HUANG
+ CASH BAR specials
+ Shanghai dumplings available for purchase in the cafe
+ TOURS of Shanghai
+ docent talks on Shanghai and Lunar New Yaer
+ mingling, merriment, & more!
Call your friends, or make some new ones. Enjoy a cocktail and watch some badass Shaolin dudes do some kung fu. It's happening this Thursday, Februar 18 at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.
