15th annual chicago asian american showcase

Chicago! This one's for you. The 15th Annual Chicago Asian American Showcase is on! Dedicated to promoting film, video, music and other media by and about Asian Americans, it runs April 2-15 at the Gene Siskel Center. This event holds a special place in my heart, because it was the first film festival I ever attended.

Lots of great stuff, with a stacked program of the latest and greatest Asian American film, a music showcase, an art exhibit by Laura Kina and a tribute to Anida Yoeu Ali. Things all kick off Friday with the Opening Night presentation of Quentin Lee's The People I've Slept With. For more information, including the full schedule and program descriptions, go to the FAAIM website here.
