submit a question to m. night shyamalan

TIME.com is soliciting questions from readers for an upcoming interview with M. Night Shyamalan, acclaimed director of The Sixth Sense, some other not-as-good movies, and of course, the controversial upcoming adaptation of The Last Airbender: Ask M. Night Shyamalan.

Currently, the very first question posted is "Why didn't you cast an Asian actor for the lead role of Aang in The Last Airbender?" (Joseph Lin, NewYorkCity), followed by a bunch of other similar inquiries. Make no mistake, the casting issue is weighing heavily on fans' minds.

If you feel strongly about this issue, you should (politely and respectfully) submit a question too -- at this rate, the interviewers can't possibly avoid talking about it. The point is to provoke discussion about the Airbender's casting for folks who might not be aware of the Hollywood whitewash.

I have to admit, up until recently, I hadn't actually seen the original Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon series. But now that I've gotten into it (I'm currently well into season two), I can completely understand why fans have reacted so vehemently about this issue. Now, I'm a fan too.
