One of the podcasts I enjoy regularly is The Moth, which features real people telling true stories (without notes) in front of a live audience. The stories are often funny, touching, heartbreaking or just downright weird.
A story that recently got my attention was "Chink" by a guy named Master Lee. He's kind of odd, with a lot of heavy breathing into the microphone (is that his real voice?) but it's certainly a story worth telling/hearing.
He recounts growing up as the only Chinese kid in West Hartford, Connecticut, where he was called "chink" at school pretty much every single day... until that fateful day when a Bruce Lee movie came to the town's drive-in.
I thought people could relate. Listen to it here.
