volleyball coach arrested in child molestation case

I hate news like this... Last week in San Diego, Xia Wei Li, a volleyball coach who has worked at La Jolla Country Day School was arrested on suspicion of child molestation involving a 12-year-old girl at a camp last month: Volleyball coach arrested in child molestation case.
Xia Wei Li, 29, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. outside his residence on Oliver Avenue in Pacific Beach, said San Diego police Lt. Rick O'Hanlon. Since 2007, he has been the junior varsity girls' volleyball coach at La Jolla Country Day School and was scheduled to resume that position this upcoming season, O'Hanlon said.

The victim, who lives in San Bernardino, said she was molested on July 21 at 8:30 p.m. while attending the camp, which was held on the USD campus. She told her parents about the assault on July 25, O'Hanlon said.

The parents contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, and on July 27 the investigation was forwarded to the San Diego Police Department's Child Abuse Unit.

San Diego police said Li coached for the Epic Volleyball Club in Poway from 2006 through 2008 and for the Coast Volleyball Club in San Diego from 2008 through this year. Police said administrators from both clubs and both schools cooperated with the investigation.
Li was arraigned last Friday in San Diego Superior Court on four felony counts, including two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police Departments Child Abuse Unit at (619) 531-2260 or Crimestoppers anonymously at (888) 580-8477.
