If you're in the Bay Area, just wanted to help spread the word about a benefit event happening this weekend for disaster relief: We Are One Island: Japan Relief Concert and Auction. The evening will feature a silent auction and performances from Asian Crisis, Colin "Senbei" Ehara, Dirty Boots, Maze Daiko, Michael Sasaki and more. It's happening Saturday, April 23 at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center. Here are some more details:

We Are One Island will be emcee'd by Kara Tsuboi (Oakland A's), beginning with a traditional ceremony led by the Buddhist Church of Oakland, followed by a video slideshow of local damage to critical areas.
Offerings from the stage include performances by Marina Fukushima (Kunst-Stoff), Purple Moon Dance Project, Shirley Muramoto and Brian Wong, Michael Sasaki, Maze Daiko, RyuQ Murasaki Daiko, Asian Crisis, Sushi Cal Band, Dirty Boots, and Hip-Hop/Spoken Word artist, Colin "Senbei" Ehara. A silent auction will feature selected, original works by many well-known folks from the API arts community.
