matcha: makrokosma bali, may 12

What's up, good people of San Francisco? It is time again for the latest edition of MATCHA, the Asian Art Museum's monthly after-hours art/music/mixer series. This month's event is a preview of excerpts from Makrokosma Bali, a new collaborative work by composer Wayne Vitale, Sekaa Gong Taruna Mekar and visual and set designers. It's happening Thursday, May 12 at the Asian Art Museum. And you've got the chance to win some free passes! See below for more details:
MATCHA: Makrokosma Bali
Thursday, May 12, 5:00–9:00 pm
Asian Art Museum
Only $10 (includes admission to Bali)

Tell your friends, mark your calendars: experience excerpts from Makrokosma Bali, a new collaborative work by composer Wayne Vitale, Sekaa Gong Taruna Mekar (a renowned 25-member gamelan ensemble from Bali making their US debut), and visual and set designers. It combines music with video and still imagery, digital-audio soundscapes, and integrated lighting, and contrasts the cultural values and cosmology of Bali with those of Western origin. Visitors can check out Bali, go on a docent tour, make art, mingle over drinks from the cash bar, and more. So bring your friends and spend the evening with us.
Want to win free tickets to MATCHA? The Asian Art Museum is giving away pair of passes to one lucky, randomly drawn winner. All you have to do is email asianartmuseumsf@gmail.com by Tuesday morning (May 10), with the subject line "Take me to the cosmos." You'll be contacted if you win.
