24-year-old Keo Sobrera is suspected of fatally shooting 21-year-old Pacific "Jerry" Som. Police are still searching for another assailant responsible for killing 26-year-old Rathanak Chea. Their deaths were apparently result of a physical brawl that turned into a shootout:
A witness told investigators that four men were beating up another man at the party when his friend fired a bullet into the air to scare the attackers.Police do not believe the gang-related. It was just a bunch of people pulling out guns in a situation that got out of hand. At a birthday party, of all places! Now two guys are dead. A short time later, friends of the attackers began firing weapons.
Som and Chea died of their injuries at a local hospital. A 30-year-old man also was shot and is recovering from a non-life-threatening wound.
