america's most mathematical dance crew

This is nerdy as hell and I love it. Check out this video of a bunch of students at Troy High School in Fullerton, California performing a Graph Dance to demonstrate mathematical graphing concepts. I'm totally not kidding. And since this is Fullerton, and we're talking about... um, math, most of the students happen to be Asian American. Take a look:

Like I said, nerdy as hell. And I love it. They video was directed and edited by Amos Byon. From what I've been able to gather, the dance itself is the work of a teacher named Mrs. Roach, who uses these fabulous moves in her classroom to teach the kids about the joys of graphing equations. This is apparently the latest iteration of the dance, choreographed to the tune of LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem."

I'm notoriously bad at math. It's always been an academic struggle for me. I can't imagine any of my past math teachers using choreography to teach precalc. But I wish they had. It might not have helped me understand the concepts any better, but at least I would have had fun trying. By the way, watch for the kid in the black skinny jeans. He's having a damn good time. (Thanks, Miss Dyo.)
