east west players presents a widow of no importance, september 8 - october 9


This for all you theatergoers in Los Angeles... East West Players, the nation's longest-running organization dedicated to producing Asian American theater, opens its 46th Anniversary season with the world premiere comedy A Widow of No Importance by Shane Sakhrani, and directed by Shaheen Vaaz.

A Widow of No Importance features an all-South Asian cast that features Anjali Bhimani, Parvesh Cheena, Sunil Malhotra, Puja Mohindra and Lina Patel. This is the third South Asian play that East West Players has produced in nine years. It's running now through October 9 at the David Henry Hwang Theater in Little Tokyo. Deepa has been a widow for two years. Her only desire now is to see her daughter married so that she can die in peace. But when her recently divorced neighbor, also her son's best friend, professes his love for her, her inner-cougar emerges to break tradition and start living again.
