no need for digital effects: heist by lawrence chen

Uh, wow. Check out Lawrence Chen's video "Heist," a short promo spot for the Pepsi Max London Film Festival short film competition. It's got this weird frozen-in-time thing going on, dropping little clues spread across the video that encourage multiple viewings to piece together the storyline.

And most impressive of all, it was apparently made with no computer graphics or digital special effects. Take a look and you'll see why that's crazy:

Whaaaat. Yo, how did they do that? Crazy.

Lawrence Chen has been making some pretty interesting, cool stuff. I've previously mentioned his works A Journey to the West and Made in China -- both of which I really enjoyed. Can't wait to see what comes next.
