Got this sent to us from Angry Reader Leanne... Her sister is studying for her NCLEX exam to become a registered nurse and came across this question on a Kaplan practice test. But something doesn't look quite right...
I'm guessing the point of the question is to determine how race and age factor into the condition (a quick Google search reveals that Native Americans and Asians have the highest prevalence rates reported for cleft lip and palate).
But I guess no one's going out of their way to teach nurses cultural sensitivity. Or maybe this is actually a trick question -- the correct answer can't be (1) because this is the year 2011 and we don't use that term anymore! Am I right?
