job opportunity: policy director, asian pacific american legal center

Another job opportunity at the Asian Pacific American Legal Center in Los Angeles... this time, they're looking for a Policy Director -- the first position of its kind in the organization's 28-year history -- who will be a senior leadership team member providing vision and guidance for APALC's work on key policy issues. They're seeking someone with significant policy/advocacy experience plus past supervision/management experience. Here's some more information about the job:
APALC Policy Director

The Policy Director is a senior level leader within the organization, and works closely with APALC's Vice President of Programs & Communications to provide vision for as well as to manage and expand APALC's policy analysis and advocacy work. The Policy Director will be responsible for overall development of and supervision of units that engage in policy-related analysis and advocacy (currently in the areas of voting rights, voter engagement, health care access, demographic research, and capacity- building) as well as the development and coordination of APALC's policy work on other social justice and civil rights issues (including immigration/immigrant rights, domestic violence, housing, education, workers' rights, hate crimes, and marriage equality). This will require working closely with both experienced policy staff and staff in APALC units who are primarily focused on direct services, litigation and leadership development but whose work may address key policy issues. The Policy Director will also help implement APALC's strategic vision around civic engagement across the organization.
All right, friends. I expect some really awesome people to apply for this position. For further details, including responsibilities and qualifications, download the job announcement here. For more information about the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, go to the APALC website here.
