Building on over two decades of leadership development experience, OCA-Greater Los Angeles Chapter (OCA-GLA) is continuing its 12-month fellowship for the third year. The purposes of the program are to:

- Develop leadership through critical analysis, skills building, and mentorship on a local, regional, and national level to address social justice issues for Asian Pacific Americans (APA);

The Civil Rights Fellowship is an opportunity for the next generation of Asian Pacific Americans to develop their leadership skills, and to increase a deeper understanding of social justice issues that face the APA community. The Civil Rights Fellow works on advocacy issues critical to the Asian Pacific American community, participate in professional and leadership development programs, receive hands-on experience managing a community based non-profit organization, fundraising, website management and media relations. About the CTO Summer Internship
OCA-GLA would like to thank the Daniel & Jeri Okamoto Floyd Family for their generous sponsorship of the Chiyo Tanaka Okamoto (CTO) Internship. The CTO Internship was launched in 2012 in honor of Chiyo Tanaka Okamoto. She faced much discrimination in her lifetime as an Asian American woman in Wyoming, but emerged to be an inspiration to her daughter, Jeri, as well as many others, through her public service. This year will be the 20th anniversary of her passing. Through the CTO Internship, OCA-GLA and the Daniel & Jeri Okamoto Floyd Family hope to encourage the next generation of Asian Pacific American leaders to serve their communities with the same grace and compassion that Chiyo Tanaka Okamoto had.

Please contact jinny.hwang@oca-gla.org or 213-250-9888 with any questions.
I'm sure there are some pretty qualified young people reading this who could kick some ass in these positions. The application deadlines are coming up quick, so get on it! For further information, go to the OCA-GLA website here.
