"Aplovado!" Portuguese ad goes for the tired Japanese joke

Because, hey, Japanese businessmen are always good for a laugh.

This one comes to us from the land of Portugal... This ad is part of a campaign for a mass media/communications company Zon. The message, I think, is that Zon is so good that it even impresses Japanese people. (Because the Japanese are so technologically advanced? I don't know.) Whatever.

For those who don't read or understand Portuguese, the bus shelter ad above exclaims, "Approved!" But instead of "aprovado," it has replaced the "R" with an "L" -- get it! See what they did there? Japanese people can't handle those Ls and Rs! What an original-ass joke. Nice to know they tell that joke in Portugal too.

The line at the bottom says "Approved by millions of Portuguese and 3 Japanese." Here's also a television ad for campaign. Because, hey, Japanese businessmen are always good for a laugh.

(Thanks, Caitanya.)
