Angry Reader of the Week: Patricia Ja Lee

"My taxes have me labeled as a performing artist. However, I identify most often with being a student."

Hello, my friends. Please gather 'round, because it is time to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Patricia Ja Lee.

Who are you?

Born and raised in Southern California, I am Patricia Ja Lee... daughter, sister, friend... aunt, cousin, and grand daughter to a Korean legacy.

What are you?

My taxes have me labeled as a performing artist. However, I identify most often with being a student ;)

Where are you?

Local... generally on the down low :)

Where are you from?

Mainly, HaploGroup F... north outta Africa, into high Asia, then to the Far SouthEast Coast... and now the West Coast of North America. I gotta be honest though, somewhere along the way my ancestry got some Neanderthal action... and I am an estimated 2.8% cave dweller (according to genetic testing with 23andMe).

What do you do?

Sleep. Eat. Groom. Poop. Work/Play. Repeat. Unga bunga.

What are you all about?

Exploring stories... across endless mediums and perspectives ;) I'm a perpetual kid in that way. I guess I'm a good listener... I can easily get completely immersed/engaged... which could be a reasonable variable as to why I ended up with a degree in psychology... and a career in acting. I started out as a Power Ranger for a few seasons... then went on to work in the commercial industry for about a decade now. Love it. On the side, I've studied Hawaiian performing arts, Korean traditional/folk singing, various forms of puppetry, voice over, comedy, and song writing/performing within the scope of a few bands. I truly enjoy the diversity of stories told across different cultures. It's then a special treat for me when I get to participate in the telling via performance. I was recently fortunate to help bring a story to life... which is now an official selection of Sundance 2014, titled Me + Her.

What makes you angry?

A rarity who up-ends truth and fabricates... showcasing their ill wills against others, with no honorable basis... bloating their own undeserved ego... self-proclaiming themselves with faux credits... it makes me angry that they are heard and believed... angry that they choose to propagate their BS as truth. Angry when truth is raped, abused, and splayed for scrutiny by those who do not know, yet regurgitate. Those with no honor. The con artist. Spinnin' lies to acquire ill-gotten gains at the expense of unsuspecting others. Those that harm, unbridled under the guise of trust/faith. The tyrant. Sorry for the harsh :I

I'm adding an extra question so we can end here on an up note :]

What makes you happy?

Phil Yu and Angry Asian Man. It's no wonder that Phil has been widely and highly recognized for his work/efforts/voice. I don't know how he does it all, but he is not only on top of practically everything happening in the Asian American communities, but he is bombtastically intelligent and witty with his reviews/perspectives/commentaries. The future is a better place because of him.
