Angry Reader of the Week: Thomas Reyes

"Life is hard, laughing about it helps. Also, donuts. Donuts help a lot."

Hey, folks! It is time, once again, to gather 'round to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Thomas Reyes.

Who are you?

Thomas Reyes, although everyone in my family calls me Jimbo. My dad wanted me to become a famous tennis player, like his favorite Jimmy Connors. Thus, Jimbo. I have played tennis twice in my life.

What are you?

I'm a comedy writer, TV producer, and, as of late, pasta blogger. I got a Never Ending Pasta Pass at Olive Garden and have been writing about it at FortyDaysOfPasta.com.

Where are you?

I'm in my apartment in Glendale taking a break from packing for the Philippines, where I'll be for the next 3 weeks. I just found out that a "Super Typhoon" will be waiting for me when I arrive. Fantastic.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in LA, although I did spend some time in Las Vegas. That was during my childhood, age 6 to 12. I have to specify that because whenever I tell someone that I used to live in Vegas, they give me a concerned look that says "must've bottomed out pretty bad, huh?"

What do you do?

I work in development at a TV production company. We make reality shows that you've probably seen while channel surfing on a Sunday at 3pm.

I also write comedy. I'm just another plaid-shirted beardo at Coffee Bean working on his sitcom pilot. Hopefully mine is funnier.

What are you all about?

I like telling stories. Whether it's a reality show or a sitcom or a blog post about crappy pasta, I want to tell stories that people haven't heard before and find interesting. Stories that I'd want my friends and family to hear and see and read.

I also like making people laugh. Life is hard, laughing about it helps. Also, donuts. Donuts help a lot.

What makes you angry?

Cops killing black people. Rape culture. Domestic abuse. General injustice just about sums it up. Also could be a future Batman villain. You're welcome, DC.

People who think LA is all vacuous transplants who work in entertainment. They exist, but they're a small minority. Try going south of the 10 or east of the 5 sometime.

Getting attached to mass emails or texts that become endless. I said no to brunch, UNSUBSCRIBE

Forced karaoke. My friend was FORCED to do karaoke at a work event. Karaoke without consent. Awful.

Lakers. I love you, but you're killing me.
