Police are investigating the attack as a "revenge hit," connected to a stabbing that occurred at a local school earlier in the week.

The family of Kenny Luong, a college student who died after an alleged fraternity hazing incident two years ago has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the fraternity and UC Irvine: Fraternity, UC Irvine sued over student's death. Luong suffered fatal head injuries during an August 2005 tackle football game meant to initiate pledges into Lambda Phi Epsilon, a nationwide Asian American fraternity. 144-pound Kenny was playing quarterback, got tackled hard, and never got back up.

A South Korean court sentenced a Korean American man, Michael Jang, to nine years in prison for spying for communist North Korea in the largest espionage case since the two Koreas began political reconciliation in 2000: S.Korea court sentences group for spying for North. A few weeks back, Haouy Nguyen walked into Long Beach City Hall, approached an information desk, then set himself on fire: Man who set himself ablaze may face arson charges.
